What Causes People To Seek Counseling?

Individuals/students usually come to the conclusion that they need counseling services when they feel that their life has become unmanageable or overwhelming. This can include intense emotions that are difficult to control or manage, problematic relationships, and/or overall decrease in daily functioning (unable to complete tasks/work/school work, reduced enjoyment in activities, withdrawing from friends/family, increased arguments with others, etc.) These are only a handful of possible reasons. Each individual’s presenting concerns are as unique as are their histories, stories, and life experiences.

Rachel is also offering a new program called “Let’s Talk About It.” There is no appointment necessary for this 15 to 20 minute informal consultation and will provide new insight, options and solutions to your problems and give information about other resources. “Let’s Talk About It” is offered every Wednesday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Angela Hall, Room 104.
