Mount Carmel College of Nursing’s online Nursing Education track prepares nurses to become educators in academic and healthcare settings. According to the National League for Nursing (NLN), Nurse Educators are responsible for shaping nursing education through research-based teaching and addressing ethical and legal responsibilities. The program includes a practicum for hands-on experience, and graduates are eligible to sit for board certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) upon completion.
Career Information and Technical Skills
Nurse Educators are prepared to educate and mentor future generations of nurses while also contributing to the ongoing development of current nursing professionals. They design and implement curricula, teach clinical skills, and promote evidence-based practices in various educational settings. Nurse Educators play a critical role in shaping the minds of future healthcare providers, focusing on patient-centered care, disease management, health promotion, and community health. The program is offered in an online format with a clinical practicum, allowing educators to balance teaching with continued clinical practice or other professional commitments.
