Below is a transfer guide that lists the courses that will transfer to Mount Carmel College of Nursing (MCCN) from Columbus State Community College (CSCC) and The Ohio State University (OSU), and Portage Learning (Portage). Courses also can be transferred from other colleges/universities as well. Transfer credit is granted based on the college/university course grade of “C” or better, total credit hours for the course, and the course description. MCCN does not accept a grade of “C-“ for transfer credit.

Traditional Transferring Applicants: Courses below are the most common equivalent courses that transfer to MCCN. Class level is determined by transfer credit awarded. Nursing classes begins sophomore year.

Ascent Program Applicants: All coursework from freshman and sophomore curriculum must be completed before the start of APP in May. Prerequisites do not need to be completed at the time of application. *SCIE 230 – If not completed, must have Stats and Ethics completed to move the course to the Junior year.

Second Degree Accelerated Program (SDAP) Applicants: Prerequisites include the listed courses below with the exception of SCIE 230 and HUMN 320. These two classes are included in the MCCN SDAP Curriculum.

NOTE: Mount Carmel College of Nursing reserves the right to change any course requirements. You must apply and be accepted to MCCN before any transfer credit will be officially awarded. MCCN has designed an integrated curriculum, and students are strongly encouraged to complete coursework, especially science courses, at MCCN.
