All students should complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (www.fafsa.ed.gov) (FAFSA). Mount Carmel College of Nursing (MCCN) uses your FAFSA information to determine eligibility for federal, state and institutional aid. Use the MCCN School Code: 030719. The FAFSA should be completed as soon as possible beginning every October 1st. MCCN’s priority filing deadline is March 15th. Information about completing the FAFSA may be found at The FAFSA Process link.

Full-time, traditional undergraduate students may be eligible for MCCN merit scholarships. These scholarships are awarded at the time you are admitted to MCCN. You do not need to submit a separate application to be considered for a merit scholarship. See the Institutional Scholarships and Grants link for more information.

Private scholarships typically require separate applications that are submitted directly to the organization offering the award. Tools for finding private scholarships may be found at the Outside Scholarships link.

MCCN will create financial aid award notifications for accepted students that have completed the necessary steps to apply for financial aid (see the Apply for Aid link). If you will not be filing a FAFSA, please contact the financial aid office. A financial aid award notification is a summary of all the federal, state and institutional financial aid awards you are eligible to receive based upon your program, status, Cost of Attendance (Understanding Cost of Attendance), and FAFSA information.

A financial aid award notification includes the following information:

  • Itemized list of all the financial aid awards you are eligible to receive for the academic year
  • Cost of Attendance for the academic year
  • List of requirements you must complete in order to receive your financial aid

MCCN will begin awarding and prospective first-time students in early March. Once you have been awarded a financial aid package, you will receive a financial aid award notification through email; additionally, once registered for courses the student’s award information, necessary documents and received documents will be available on CARMELink, under the Financial Aid Tab.

Revised award notifications will be prepared if subsequent changes are made to financial aid awards. Revised award notifications will be available on CARMELink under the Financial Aid Tab.
