Transfer Credit
In general, credit for college level courses taken at a regionally accredited institution will transfer to Mount Carmel College of Nursing with grades of "C" or better. Some courses at certain colleges and universities have been pre-determined to fulfill certain Mount Carmel education requirements. MCCN refrains from the transcription of credit from other institutions that it does not apply to its own programs.
If you wish to learn what course(s) would transfer from your college/university prior to applying, please download and complete a copy of our transcript evaluation form below and submit it along with:

Due to the volume of inquiries of this nature we are unable to determine transfer credit over the phone or by e-mail.
Mount Carmel College of Nursing reserves the right to change any course requirements. You must apply and be accepted to MCCN before any transfer credit will be officially awarded. MCCN has designed an integrated curriculum, and students are strongly encouraged to complete coursework, especially science courses, at MCCN. MCCN reserves the right to accept or reject all transfer credits in terms of their own institutional standards and requirements.
GPA
To determine eligibility for admission, Mount Carmel College of Nursing calculates a cumulative GPA based on all completed college coursework from all colleges/universities attended. No coursework is excluded.
In addition, it is important to know that Mount Carmel follows a semester schedule. If you are or have attended a college/university that is on a quarter system, that GPA will be converted to a semester GPA in order to calculate your cumulative GPA for admission consideration. Transfer credit grades are not included in the calculation of the MCCN cumulative grade point average for an accepted student. However, credit for transfer courses will be included in the total number of hours earned toward the BSN degree.
