Dear Mount Carmel Alumni,
I want you to know how thrilled I am to have been named president and dean, Mount Carmel College of Nursing. It is an honor, not only to follow in the remarkable footsteps of President and Dean Emeritus, Dr. Ann Schiele, but to be your representative in the Columbus community and, indeed, around the world.
I have already received a very warm welcome from many of you, including the Mount Carmel College of Nursing Board of Trustees, members of the faculty and staff, and students, and it has been wonderful. Over the past few weeks, so many have stopped by to say hello and wish me well. I truly feel part of the MCCN family.
I enjoyed meeting your Mount Carmel Alumni Association Board members at their August meeting, and I am very excited about greeting many of you the next time you are on campus or during my on-site visits to various cities in Ohio. These visits are currently in the planning stages. Until we meet, you can learn more about me in my profile.
We are transitioning toward a new era in the history of Mount Carmel, which includes new traditions, such as Convocation 2014; however, as we transition, I want to assure you that I am completely devoted to sustaining the excellence already inherent in the Mount Carmel legacy and with your support, we will take MCCN into a very bright and promising future. I am in awe – and complete understanding – of the very high level of regard you have for your history, as evidenced by the detailed archive display in the Health Sciences Library and the beautiful new History Mural, which I hope you will see on your next visit to campus.
Finally, I want you to know that I am humbled by the trust that has been placed in me as your new president and dean. I am blessed to be a part of this endeavor and proud to be the newest member of the MCCN family!
Sincerely yours,
Christine Wynd, PhD, RN
