The online program is ranked 65th best in the country for any degree and second in the state of Ohio.

The annual rankings are designed to assist prospective students on making informed decisions about which distance learning program is best to help them reach their future career goals.

Mount Carmel College of Nursing has 115 years of experience providing specialized education for future registered nurses. MCCN students are prepared academically and professionally to serve as competent and compassionate nurse leaders who are lifelong learners and possess the moral courage to continuously promote the health of individuals and communities.

Mount Carmel College of Nursing's fully-accredited online RN-to-BSN program allows students to advance their careers on their own schedule. Full-time students can complete their degree in two to three semesters, with part-time options available as well. The student-to-faculty ratio of the online program is kept low, with a cap of 30 students per course, to help maximize support and ensure individualized attention is available.

"As one of the largest private Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs in Ohio, Mount Carmel College of Nursing is proud to receive this ranking that reflects the hard work our faculty and staff do every day to train the next generation of nurses," said Jami Nininger, DPN, RN, Academic Dean of Mount Carmel College of Nursing. "Our online programs help to provide our dedicated students with access to high-quality nursing education with flexibility for those who want it."

In its 10th year of collecting data regarding distance education degree programs, U.S. News assessed nearly 1,800 online degree-granting programs - an all-time high.

"Most of the undergraduate programs in the Best Online Programs rankings are degree completion programs, meaning the vast majority of their students already have some college credit," said Liana Loewus, managing editor of Education at U.S. News. "The methodologies are developed with those students in mind, setting these rankings apart from those that are focused on recent high school graduates pursuing higher education for the first time."

Schools were assessed based on four categories, including engagement between students and professors, services and technologies available to students, faculty credentials and training, and the opinion of high-ranking academic experts.
