What inspired you to become a nurse?

Growing up as a refugee and seeing the endless struggles my family endured inspired me to become a nurse. We had no proper hospitals or medical treatment in the refugee camps which made me realize how vital healthcare was. It inspired me to push my limits and pursue my dreams. I've always wanted to go into the medical field, and when I came to the US, I did everything I could to ensure that would happen. Being a multi-skilled technician played a huge role and as a motivator for me to become a nurse and help the people around me!

What are your goals for your nursing career?

My goals for my nursing career are to use what I learned in my program and use it in real-life scenarios. I want to be the best nurse and co-worker I can to my team. My ultimate goal is to never stop learning and keep striving to be better. I also hope to obtain a master’s degree sometime in the near future!

What advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell my younger self to never give up and to reach for the stars! Always put yourself first and don't listen to others. You can do anything you put your mind to!
