What inspired you to become a nurse?

I have wanted to become a nurse since a young age. I have always had an instinct in helping others, in good times and in bad times. Becoming a nurse allows me the ability to advocate for patients and families when they are not capable of advocating for themselves. It gives me the possibility of making a difference in someone’s life every day.

What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?

The best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing is the amazing classmates and professors that feel like family. Every single person I have encountered within Mount Carmel has treated me like family and has always had my best interest at heart.

What are your goals for your nursing career?

My career goals for my nursing career are to become a labor and delivery nurse and eventually further my education to become a Nurse Practitioner.

What advice would you give your younger self?

The advice I would give my younger self would be to not doubt what I am capable of. Going into nursing school I was scared to death I would never make it. Everyone you meet helps you along the way, and if you believe in yourself, you can do it.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

The advice I would give to someone considering a career in nursing is to not do it alone. Everyone you’re there with is going for the same degree as you--make friends, work together, and push each other every day. Nursing school is going to be stressful, and it is not easy, but remember your end goal will be one of the most rewarding things ever.
