What inspired you to become a nurse?

I took a combat lifesaver course prior to my first deployment that really sparked my interest in saving lives.

What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?

I love the pace of the online courses. There is never a question of when assignments are due, and you can often work ahead.

What are your goals for your nursing career?

I love the chaos of emergency nursing, but I eventually see myself managing in some capacity.

What advice would you give your younger self?

I would advise my younger self to enjoy the little things and to search for the positivity in life.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

Besides having job security, career flexibility, and the ability to work anywhere, there will also be rewarding moments when you can have a direct impact on another human’s life. Whether you are a shoulder to cry on at the worst moment in their life or your decisive action is the reason they’re still alive, the impact you can leave in this world is a powerful one!

Also, be kind to your fellow nurses and staff across all departments and units. You are all in this together. Don’t forget to have fun and take care of your mind, body, and soul. Exercise, eat right, and use your vacation time.
