What inspired you to become a nurse?

The high mortality rate for black women giving birth is my inspiration for becoming a nurse. I would like to become a labor and delivery nurse and I would like to contribute to lowering the mortality rate.

What is the best thing about Mount Carmel College of Nursing?

The best thing about MCCN is everyone is willing to help you with anything that you need. It’s also a small college so you don’t feel overwhelmed, and you are supported by staff and faculty members.

What are your goals for your nursing career?

I would like to get my BSN, then eventually get my doctorate.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I would tell my younger self that tough times don’t last forever, tough people do, and always strive for the best.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in nursing?

I would say to stay on top of everything no matter how hard it gets and don’t give up.
