As part of our ongoing series of profile faculty, staff and student representatives, this month we feature Administrative Secretary Michelle Richards.
Name: Michelle Richards
Hometown: Reynoldsburg, Ohio
Alma Mater: The Ohio State University
I can’t live without… my family, my friends and my dogs.
If I could spend the day with one person it would be… my grandmother, Elsie Cline. She passed away the month before my son was born, and I would love for her to see the person he is becoming. He would make her so very proud.
If I could travel anywhere, I would go to… Alaska and New Zealand.
When I have down time, I… Downtime? What’s that? I work at the College full-time, I’m a full-time grad student, I’m finishing up a second job and I’m in charge of my upcoming high school reunion. Ask me in a few months and I will probably say that I sleep.
My favorite movie is… I couldn’t name just one. There are many movies that I could watch over and over again like Fried Green Tomatoes, The Color Purple, Steel Magnolias, Up, The Jerk, Overboard, etc. I could go on and on.
The quote I tend to live by is… There are two:
“Everything that happens to us is an experience, and because of that it can never be bad. An experience can only be good because it all serves to shape the person that we are, the person that we become.” — Jane Green
“The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed.” — Chamfort
I love my job because… I work with amazing people every single day. There is not a day when I dread getting up in the morning because I know that I get to come to Mount Carmel College of Nursing and work with some of the kindest and most caring people I have ever met.
One thing you may not know about me is… apparently I sneeze more than most people. If you hear someone sneezing in the distance, it’s probably me.
