Beginning January 30, 2016, it will be mandatory to dial the 10-digit telephone numbers when placing local calls within the 614 area code. This applies to calls made from cell phones and land lines.

To prepare for the switch, you should begin dialing the 10-digit telephone number (614 plus the seven-digit telephone number) when making local calls.

Things to Know

  • You will need to dial the area code + seven-digit phone number for all local calls
  • You will continue to dial 1 + area code + seven-digit phone number for all long distance calls
  • What is a local call now will remain a local call
  • You should include the area code when giving your phone number to others

To ensure a continuing supply of phone numbers, a new 380 area code will be added to the 614 region by late February 2016. Any transitions to Mount Carmel Health System phone numbers will be communicated at that time. Contact Harold Keller at (614) 234-8801 or hkeller@trinity-health.org if you have questions.
