Eight students from both the Columbus and FMC campuses are taking off for Chicago on Friday, February 19 to enjoy a weekend retreat with college students from Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and other parts of Ohio.

The theme will center around music and how it has always been integral to the spiritual: “When it comes to music, we have a lot to offer each other and a lot to offer the world.” Professionals from Music That Makes Community will lead participants in song, prayer, worship, fun and community. While there, Campus Ministry students will be staying at Hosteling International Chicago downtown. Of course, after spiritual activities, participants will take time to sightsee, ride the el (elevated train) and have some famous Chicago deep dish pizza.

Ellen O’Shaughnessy, DMin, director of Campus Ministry and her husband, called “Dr. Bob” by students, will be chaperones. The retreat is made possible by grants from the Downtowners Campus Ministry.
