On Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15, Mount Carmel College of Nursing hosted the 2016 Ohio Student Nurses Association (OSNA) Convention. Over 100 students from colleges in Ohio and 22 exhibitors – including recruiters from the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic – were in attendance at this year’s convention.

Katheryn Fernandez, PhD, RN, associate professor, received an award for outstanding service and dedication as consultant to the OSNA. MCCN students Michelle Doone, Patricia Mack, Jeni Joyce and Taylor Pyers represented the College in the Brain Bowl competition, emceed by Brigit Duggan, RPh, MS, RN, CNE, assistant professor. Three MCCN students: Layne Sullivan, Allie Taylor and Taylor Longenette will serve on the Board of Directors for the OSNA during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Dawn Hughes, MS, RN, assistant professor and Simulation Education coordinator, acted as parliamentarian for the House of Delegates. Christine Wynd, PhD, RN, MCCN president, was among 15 MCCN faculty who presented at the convention.
