SDAP students taking the Health Policy course recently had an opportunity to tour the Ohio Statehouse and meet with Michael Curtin and Cheryl Grossman, who are current members of the Ohio House of Representatives. They discussed current healthcare legislation, including efforts to improve the health of all Ohioans; the need for improved access to mental health services; and the fight against heroin use. In the afternoon, they had a special tour of the Governor's ceremonial office and met with Barbara Sears, assistant director of the Governor's Office of Health Transformation who spoke about Medicaid expansion and health insurance basics.
