Students in Patty Severt’s Spring 2018 First Year Experience group spent some time with siblings of patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital at Ronald McDonald House as part of their Service Learning. The students provided supplies and assisted the children with making Valentine’s Day-themed crafts. During this time, they engaged the children and parents in conversations about staying at the Ronald McDonald House and about their sick sibling or child. Patty Severt, MSN, RN, instructor, reflected, “As an observer, I could tell this was very therapeutic for not only the siblings, but for the parents as well.”

Thank you to students Camron Cook, Mary Davis, Erin Donohue, Bailey Grove, Meghan Knapp, Lucy Wagner and Michaela Wollam.
