Nursing has formed who I am and my life choices, and according to my mother, was my career choice since I was 3 years old. I chose Mount Carmel for its strong clinical education with its then unique holistic focus.
I value the Mount Carmel education I received; therefore, I want others to have this and be known as a Mount Carmel nurse. This is why I am involved with the alumni association, so the current students have the support they deserve from those who preceded them. I also enjoy this interaction with the students and learn from them. It is a win-win situation!
I am a 1975 Mount Carmel graduate and a 1995 BSN graduate of Northern Kentucky University. Most of my clinical nursing was in Maternal Child Health and hospice palliative care. I also graduated from SHI Medical Massage School and have numerous certifications in Healing Touch, CranioSacral Therapy, reflexology and acupuncture. Currently, I have a private nursing practice providing these services to clients, as well as health coaching.
I am married and have a blended family of two sons and two daughters with five grandchildren. My husband and I are currently remodeling a lake house and plan to move from Cincinnati to Lake Waynoka this spring.

I am married and have a blended family with seven grown daughters, two granddaughters and four grandsons with a fifth due in July.
My affiliation with Mount Carmel Hospital began as a Candy Striper in the late 1960s. I graduated from Mount Carmel School of Nursing in 1976 and received my BSN from Capital University in 1996.
My passion in nursing has been emergency-trauma care. I worked in the ED at MCW for 25 years, leaving in 2005. I have also enjoyed ICU-CCU step-down, cardiology, urgent care, telephone triage, orthopedics and hospice. I am currently working at Mount Carmel College of Nursing as a sophomore clinical instructor in the skills lab.
I believe Mount Carmel School and College of Nursing are unique; we are a family. A family shapes who we are, who we will become, and how we make a difference in the world.
My vision for Mount Carmel Alumni Association is to facilitate means by which students and alumni interact, recognize and support one another, and promote the qualities that make a Mount Carmel nurse unique.
