The Village Mountain Mission is a non-profit, non-denominational, faith-based mission project located in the Dominican Republic. They run construction programs, educational programs, and medical programs and are looking for medical interns who are able to commit at least a year to volunteer their time working in the Dominican Republic. While this is a volunteer position, most basic living expenses will be taken care of while living on the mission property. The medical intern job responsibilities will be: reporting to the director and board advisors, enabling and assisting local women who help the mission as health promoters in visiting patients on home visits, keeping an open communication with director and board advisors on educational topics being taught to local residents and health promoters, organizing medical educational classes in schools and communities, teaching health promoters new health topics and continuing to review previously learned health topics, leading medical groups in home visits and clinics, organizing inventory of medical supplies and donations, and being willing to help other programs as time allows.
